Sanford Harris (played by Michael Gaston) is Phillip Broyle’s good friend who audits the Fringe division’s procedures. He was a high-ranking officer of the US Marine Corps., but an evening of indiscretion on his part saw him drunk and sexually assaulting three female Marine privates. He was exposed and prosecuted by the justice-seeking Olivia, and he was imprisoned for several years.
The conviction was overturned years later, and he later joined the Department of Homeland Security, becoming a consultant for the Pentagon. Eventually his connection to the ZFT was exposed, and he was incinerated alive by a woman bearing pyrokinetic powers.
