A mysterious child, physically unable to talk, is found living underground. Olivia begins to create a bond with the child, and she brings him to the lab. After the child has adapted to his new environment, they discover that he is able to track an infamous serial killer known as “The Artist”, resurfacing from the shadows to publicly display his work.
The child helps Olivia track the killer down, using his ability to sense his emotions. After the case has been solved, she arranges a foster family to take care of the child rather than turn him over to the CIA. As he is taken to his new home, he sees the Observer on the sidewalk staring at him.
