Fringe is currently off until fall but still, fans have great summer treat to remember. Yes, Amy Madigan is taking the role of Olivia Dunham’s mum. Amy is a successful actress and many know her for her role in Field of Dreams film. She has also featured in Grey’s Anatomy as a therapist.

Towards the conclusion of season 2 of Fringe, Olivia was imprisoned in a parallel universe where the team had attacked in a quest to find Peter Bishop. Olivia casts as FBI Special Agent. The team did not realize that they only came back with alternate Olivia while they left real Olivia at the prison. But, in the alternate world, Olivia’s mum still lives. So, Olivia, while under captive gets a chance to meet her mom again. We are not too sure yet about how this happens because we know that alternate Walter Bishop is holding her captive.

The season ended on a promising note to the Fringe team when Peter actually proposed that he was willing to pardon Walter for all his misdoings including the childhood kidnap. He claimed that he could not understand some of the actions Walter took but he owed him a lot for the twice he had to cross the universe to save his life. Amy will appear on Fringe when it premieres again this September. She will also recur is 4 episodes of season 3 as well.
