Fringe 4.16 “Nothing As It Seems” Review

Submitted by on April 4, 2012 No Comment

The latest episode of Fringe was the ideal Fringe episode, after seeing this episode, which was named “Nothing As It Seems” it made us wish that all Fringe episodes were like this one, as it was filled with questions and mysteries that kept us on the edge of our seats throughout the whole show. On this episode, they did something that we all predicted and wanted to happen; they opened an old case that ended in a different way between the two universes. And despite the fact that it was very heart breaking that this didn’t occur to the doppelgangers, and we had to wait some time before we get to see Peter appearing again after vanishing, but when it was over, we were absolutely entertained. Besides that, we got to see Olivia’s sudden change of personality and the way Peter has opened up way for his feelings after he decided not to throw away and waste his time, all of the above resulted in a very interesting, intriguing and a mystery filled episode of Fringe.

Fringe Season 4 Episode 16

Speaking of Olivia, it was very obvious for the FBI that she wasn’t the same woman they hired, that’s why they saw her not suitable to be on duty, as she was losing herself due to the sudden personality changes she went through. But come to think of it, it wasn’t fair, they knew her, and knew everything about her, and if we compare her situation and Peter’s, she got a very bad treatment, as they let him go on cases when he went through the same phase as he was coming from nothing. And plus, they do work for the Fringe Division, and being weird and strange is a matter of degree. But again, if they haven’t done that and take her out, no way would Lincoln rise up the way he did.

Continuing on the same storyline, the moment that Peter gave the advice to Lincoln concerning Olivia, we knew it was going to backfire on him. But Peter and Lincoln managed to tackle the weird and awkward situation wisely. But it was very hard and disappointing for Lincoln, as he had to see the woman that he is replacing dwindling down and almost vanishing. But as a result of his infection of the porcupine virus, he let Olivia work on the case, despite the fact that she is not fit for duty as stated by the FBI, but his trust in Olivia and Peter made him do it, and it was surely rather hard for him to watch them together.

All of this brings us to the fact that Lincoln has to be the most indispensable and undeniable part of the Fringe team, he made us think how would the team continue without him, it’s very hard for us to imagine it. This shows how affective he was being a vital part of the team.
