Fringe 3.15 ‘Subject 13′ Review
This episode uses the theme of the flash back to give an exciting account of some events that occurred way back in the lives of the characters of ‘Fringe. Elizabeth rescues Peter from a seeming suicide attempt. But we later get to know that it was an attempt to get to the bottom of the lake where he suspects he might find clues that will serve his long held doubts about Elizabeth being his mother.

The story switches from the two alternates, showing the same characters but form alternate worlds each living different but connected lives.
Walter, Elizabeth’s husband is a scientist who is bent on trying to find a way of getting Peter back to the alternate world. He finds the answer to his quest in Olivia Durham who happens to be one of the kids Walter is working with. She had the uncanny ability of being able to transport her from one place to another once certain conditions are fulfilled.
Olivia on the other hand was under the grips of an abusive step-father who hits her. In one of those times when he attacked her, she transports herself to a green field and there she had other encounters which she puts down on paper, drawing the semblance of a space ship.
Walter noticing that the rough drawing looks like a space ship from the alternate world and get-ting enough back ground information as to what transpired at Olivia‘s home, came to a conclusion that she had the ability to transport herself and that if properly harnessed, she could be a means through which Peter could be got back to his world.
He hit pay dirt when he decided to work on her fears and that is where he got it right. She somehow responds to fear and love combined together as she almost set the lab on fire when she reacted to a situation that was designed to provoke fear.
Now when Olivia was transported in that experiment, she unknowingly switched to the other world and told the alternate Walter why she shouldn’t be sent back home. Peter later had to ask Elizabeth for the umpteenth time if she was his real mother but she stuck to her lies. But one good thing this whole event did was to give life back to Walter who now knew where their son and told his wife.
